On the edge of a grassland facing a dry rage of tall mountains.

I think I may have messed up my shading here but i don't think it's too noticeable. Other than that I think it turned out all aright. I tweaked a few details and tried some different things with this one. for instance different types of horns and I went with a longer tail.

Thanks bro.

Well for one the sun is behind her which would make her mostly dark. And the shadows on the tail spikes are facing the wrong way. I just got a little bit ahead of myself.

This all could be fixed if i just didn't draw the sun... oops.

Most of what you have is highlight shading and the lighting shading looks like he is facing the sun at horizon and its diffuse, so its pretty good. On the shadow of the left wing tip where it goes over the body and then on the ground, you have a good spacing there to show him as a round object and placed above the soil.

The sun is however behind him! Details.... ;-)

Great nonetheless, keep going.

Thanks for the constructive criticism!
Shading has always been a little tricky for me to get right but I think i did an ok job. Although I can see where i jacked it up. I usually go at it head first and then everything becomes a bit disconnected. Like how I messed up the sun placement. lol.

I think I put the sun down almost first thing and did most of the shading near the end of the picture. I probably forgot all about were I left that pesky sun.

It was a learning experience for sure.

I always miss something.

Thought about adding color?

Ya actually. I kinda feel like it would be the next step to take artistically.

I've been playing around with gimp but I can never get it to do what i want. Kinda wish i knew of a good program I could use to color some line-art. Traditional coloring doesn't entirely appeal because I'm a fan of gradients and i hate having a ton of visible brushstrokes.
I used to use MS paint but i could never do better than cell shading, and it always looked so pixelated.

Guess i'm at a bit of a loss color-wise.
